In town on invitation of Michigan graduate Honolulu Marathon directors, Michigan cross country head coach Kevin Sullivan decided hours before the race to run and crossed the finish line in impressive fashion, winning his age group.

Jeryne Fish (Bowie, Maryland), Lauren VanVlierbergen (Algonquin, Illinois) and Maegan McCarthy (Rockford, Michigan) each signed National Letters of Intent to compete for Michigan starting in the 2015-16 season.

Ben Hill (Royal Oak, Mich.) and Brandon Piwinski (Harrison Township, Mich.) each signed National Letters of Intent to compete for the Wolverines in 2015-16.

Lauren Van Vlierbergen, a signee from Harry D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin, Illinois, was named the Wendy's High School Heisman female award winner at a ceremony in New York City as part of Heisman Week.

Repeat All-American Mason Ferlic (13th) was joined in the top 80 by Ben Flanagan (64th) and August Pappas (79th) as Michigan took 11th at the NCAA Championships under first-year coach Kevin Sullivan.

Senior captains Brook Handler (89th) and Megan Weschler (106th) were the first Wolverines to cross the finish line as Michigan took 18th place at the NCAA Championships.

August Pappas, a performance music/percussion major in the School of Music, performs in the University Symphony Orchestra while competing with an elite group of Michigan runners.

No. 18 Michigan will finish up the 2014 slate this Saturday (Nov. 22) at Indiana State, the site of the NCAA Championships, which are set to begin at noon.
