Michigan will continue its 2015 indoor season by traveling to University Center, Michigan, on Friday (Jan. 23) to take part in the Doug Hansen Open, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.

Derek Sievers' record-setting throw in the shot put last weekend at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational earned him Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week -- U-M's first weekly conference award of the year.

Derek Sievers (shot put), Louis Lamberti (high jump), Codie Nolan (60m dash), Jeff Sattler (800 meters) and Kevin Stephens Jr. (triple jump) won events, as U-M notched 15 top-three finishes at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational.

Michigan will host the Simmons-Harvey Invitational -- the first of two home meets during the indoor season for the Wolverines -- this Saturday (Jan. 17) at the Indoor Track Building. Admission is free, and action begins at 10:30 a.m.

After dangerous weather conditions forced U-M to cancel their season-opening trip to Kent State, a small group of Wolverines competed at the EMU Triangular meet, earning two event titles and five personal records.

The Wolverines' 2015 season opener, Saturday's Doug Raymond Invitational, has been cancelled due to poor weather, and now select athletes will compete at today's EMU Triangular in Ypsilanti.
